FAREWELL LUNCH
After all the celebrations, we’d love to share one more moment with you before everyone heads home. To thank you for making the effort to be with us, we’re hosting a farewell lunch with our closest friends and family at Hotel Chiqui in Santander.
The lunch will start around 1:30 – 2:00 PM. We’ve arranged buses to take everyone from the wedding area to Hotel Chiqui, and after the lunch, there will be buses heading directly to Bilbao for your convenience.
It’s a simple way for us to say thank you and enjoy a little more time together before we go our separate ways.

Bilbao is a vibrant and walkable city, perfect for exploring on foot or by bike. Stroll through the historic Casco Viejo (Old Town), visit the iconic Guggenheim Museum, and savor local pintxos at bustling bars. For more information on what to see and do, check out the Bilbao Tourism website.

Travel tips from yours truly
Bilbao has become a much-loved destination in recent years, so it’s a good idea to plan and book your flights, accommodation, and activities well in advance. Some places that used to be easy to visit now require reservations—like San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (Game of Thrones fans will know it as Dragonstone), where booking ahead is now a must.
When it comes to flights, we usually use Google Flights to compare options across different airlines—just a tip: using your browser’s incognito mode can sometimes help you find better deals. Flights to Spain generally open up around 10 months before departure, and prices can fluctuate quite a bit, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for good deals. Iberia is one of the main airline that have direct flights from SFO to Barcelona, plus we’ve found that Iberia often has flash sales on their website, which can be a great opportunity to grab a good deal.
